This guide will explain the multiple ways you can start/ end a charge with ChargePocket. You will be able to use these methods as long as you have an active membership with any eMobility Providers in partnership with ChargePocket.
- Swipe your RFID card
Requirements: Unit must have an RFID card scanner - Scan the QR code on the Charger
Requirements: Charger must have a QR code sticker visible on screen or on the unit itself. - Use ChargePocket to start a Charge Remotely
Select which card you want to use and the charge point you are it (after which an estimated price per kWh will be displayed), then click ‘Start Charge Session’ to start your charge remotely. - Send us a WhatsApp

Charge Session Restrictions
When starting/viewing an active charge session on the website you will have the ability to stop your charge session when a predefined value is met.
- Token Amount: ChargePocket will send a stop request when your active session reaches a set token amount.
- SoC (battery %): ChargePocket will send a stop request when your EV reaches a set SoC (battery %).
- kWh recharged: ChargePocket will send a stop request when your active session reaches a set amount of kWh recharged.
Please note in certain instances this functionality may be impaired, resulting from a loss of connectivity or signal, therefore we recommend monitoring your live session using ChargePocket.
How to Charge:
- Park within the allocated EV parking bay with the cable side close to your car charging socket.
- Some cables can be heavy – ask onsite attendants for assistance if needed.
- Remove the protective caps from the car’s charging socket according to the chargers plug type.
- Ensure the cable is plugged in properly and not halfway pushed in.
- Make use of the multiple ways to start a charge – either hold your RFID card to the unit RFID reader; use the QR code scanner on your phone to scan the barcode displayed; or use ChargePocket to start a charge remotely.
